University Facilities

F&W has provided engineering services for a variety of university projects for the University of California system, the California State University system, as well as private universities. For these projects, we have designed and analyzed buildings of concrete, steel, masonry, timber, and light gauge steel materials. F&W has also designed several K-12 school facilities and modernization programs.


UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, IRVINE \| PARKING STRUCTURE \| Irvine, California \| Design-build of 7 story post-tensioned concrete, 1,200 car parking facility with perforated shear walls. Three-dimensional finite element modeling was used to capture unique shear wall and ramp behavior.

The parking structure at the University of California, Irvine has perforated shear walls for a unique architectural design that required special modeling techniques. Elaborate and modern architectural shapes with exposed steel and glazing.

The Soka University façade consists of various elaborate cubic stone elements that are supported by the exterior light gauge frame system.
